War criminals out of the marathon – cut ties with apartheid Israel
Stop the War on Palestine with the support of Jews Against the Occupation ’48 and Coalition of Women for Justice and Peace will protest against Israeli soldiers who have served in the genocide in Gaza running in the Sydney Marathon.
The protest will take place near Hyde Park Fountain 10am Sunday August 30.
The Israeli delegation is part of a propaganda tour backed by Israeli organisations. It is sickening that the Albanese government has granted them entry to the country at all.
The Australian government and Sydney Marathon have a responsibility to act to end their complicity with genocide. The delegation members must be investigated and prosecuted as suspected war criminals.
Australia must cut ties with Israel and make it the pariah state it deserves to be. Like apartheid South Africa before it, Israel should face comprehensive boycotts, divestment and sanctions, including with regards to sporting events.
