Chris Minns’ draconian anti-protest laws have been struck down as unconstitutional. But disgracefully, only one person from the February 9 protest against Israeli President Isaac Herzog has had their charges dropped.
29 still face charges despite the fact Chris Minns used undemocratic and unconstitutional laws to unleash his violent police crackdown.
Minns aimed to silence dissent against Israel’s genocidal President. Praying Muslims were attacked by police, a 69-year-old protestor was left with broken vertebrae and there were countless other injuries.
Every day Israel’s crimes further indict Minns and his decision to welcome Herzog to NSW.
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has just declared Israel is planning the large scale expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza. Israel has admitted slaughtering at least 70,000 Palestinians in Gaza, bombards the strip daily and maintains a brutal seige denying desperate people life saving support. Settler attacks in the West Bank escalate with impunity.
All the Herzog protest charges must be dropped, there must be justice for those injured by police and Minns must abandon his plan to ban the slogan ‘Globalise the Intifada’.
Resistance is justified when Palestine is occupied.
